The Rowan County Clerk is responsible for conducting all Special, Primary, and General Elections within the County. Also, the Clerk’s Office upholds all voter registration information and is responsible for making sure all election laws set forth by Kentucky Revised Statutes are maintained properly. Last day to register for Primary Election: April 20th at 4:00PM
Mail-In Absentee Ballot – April 3rd – May 12th, 2026
Friday, April 3rd – Online mail-in absentee request portal to open
(45 days before the election).
Tuesday, May 5th – online mail-in absentee request portal to close
(14 days before the election) at 11:59PM
Ballots for the May 2026 General may be returned by mail, or to the secure drop box located outside the Rowan County Courthouse during normal business hours of 8:00AM-4:00PM, Monday-Friday. Ballots must be received in the clerk’s office by May 19th, 2026 at 6:00PM.
In-Person Excused Absentee – May 6th, 7th, 8th, 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2026, 8:00AM-4:00PM in County Clerk’s Office
3 Day Early Voting – May 14th, 15th, and 16th, 2026, 8:00AM-4:00PM at the Carl Perkins Center
Election Day – Tuesday May 19th, 2026. Polls open 6:00AM-6:00PM.
